Brief topic summary:

The Cold War was an international conflict that created immense power tension between the United States and the Soviet Union, after the Second World War. This conflict lasted from 1947 to 1991, and even though there was no actual military engagement that took place between these two powerful nations; “proxy wars” were conducted. It was fulfilled on political, economic, and propaganda fronts with limited access to weapons. A proxy war is a conflict instigated by opposing powers, in the cold war, the Soviet Union, who supports the communist side, and the United States of America, who generally supports the pro-capitalist side, where these do not fight directly. They use mostly “third world countries” to battle in their name. The conflicts that occurred in the wake of decolonization killed millions in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. While Europe, enjoyed its longest time of peace in recorded history.
