Brief Crisis Summary:

Crisis: The issue of separatist movements throughout Europe

(Cases: Cataluña and Great Britain)

The recent separatist movements in Great Britain and the Spanish situation regarding Cataluña have created a worldwide domino effect in which countries and provinces in Europe, America and Africa rally to become independent from their nations and/or organizations. Nationalism is at its highest since the Great War and populations/communities are enacting ever growing protests. Some nations are clinging to whatever is left of coalitions such as the African Union and the European Union to continue the phenomenon of interconnectivity and globalization of ideals/culture/values this era had to offer. The General Assembly must come to a consensus to this issue since, if not dealt with swiftly, the international economy and it’s interconnectivity dependency will erode as the world will change in both political structure and geographical territories, possibly even breaking a new world war.
